Nothing has to be bothering me for me to want to enjoy a nice day at the beach. Relaxation and rest is good for the mind and soul, even if you fear it. So tell me why you of all people have something to complain about. Remember you have one minute.

( by the time the message came in, inara was far beyond exhausted from the day's activities. she had kicked off her shoes and left things scattered in her apartment, deciding she'd take care of it first thing in the morning. after getting a strange call from crane today, truthfully she was tired of socializing.

yet this text immediately filled her with new energy and a confident smile in her. she had done something good without the exchange of money for her services. she actually helped someone out and she felt proud. )

I'm not sure what that phrase means in your world, but in mine you usually say that to people who are about to die or are dead.

such as 'inara, she was a great woman. may she rest in peace'.

I wouldn't say sad so much as expected, not that I view myself as being better than others. however, when I make a commitment, I stick to it. I can assure you, you can rely on me.

( if there was one thing inara could be trusted on was her word, even if she had nothing else to offer. now that she did though, she'll boast a bit. )

as for that, I go by 'the mage'. I can heal small to medium size wounds, though the bigger and more serious, the longer it takes. I also noticed I can create things using atoms, I think? in the air...it's hard to explain but I made cookies using all the ingredients needed for it and using the heat in the air, I was able to cook it...

I don't think I can make things I don't know how to from start to finish. I tried making gold and I didn't get much beyond melted goo.

[What a name for him in particular to hear. He thinks of the mage who saved his life as a child- and how 'the mage' is the only way he's ever been able to refer to them in his head. One of those things that just unintentionally grabs his attention more, through no external force than his own personal experience.]

A healer and creator too. That's a pretty incredible set. Creating is definitely more versatile since it seems your only obstruction is knowing the chemical compositions, right? In which case for gold, it's just Au, but maybe you need to know more about the crystalline structure? Does face-centered cubic mean anything to you? Or is it more about the electron configuration?

Nevermind that. I'm getting off-topic.

( coincidences were funny in that way weren't they? she simply thought of how her powers felt like magic, and how back home her words and body seemed to heal her clients. here? she could heal in a less personal way, despite how personal it seemed. )

I'm not too sure on that, it's a working theory but I think you might be onto something there.

( she's intelligent enough to deduce that could be the reason why she couldn't just make whatever she wanted, but she was also intelligent enough to know she didn't know everything. her intelligence lied more in the arts, socialization skills, and literacy. anything more was beyond her. )

slow down jayce, I'm not very knowledgeable in any of that. I can't create anything like an atomic bomb...at least I don't think so...as for that, I might be able to but I need practice. I've reached out to people to see if they'll let me use them as test subjects.

this might be surprising, but I can’t say I have any connection to this earth. it’s far before my time and everything is very new to me. the one good thing is they actually have good tea in the shops around here.
